Aziz Sohail (they/them)

Aziz Sohail is a Pakistan-passport holding curator and writer whose work builds interdisciplinary connections between art, history, archives, literature, theory, and biography and supports new cultural and pedagogical infrastructures. Their research and resultant projects honour and recognise the power of queer and feminist collectivity, sociability, joy, and wayward encounter and unfold through slowness, collaboration, and tentacularity. They are currently a PhD Candidate in Curatorial Practice at Monash University. As part of their PhD, they founded Queer Unschool South Asia, the inaugural edition of which took place in Nepal in late 2024.

Helena/Hunter (they/them)

Hi, I am Helena becoming Hunter (they/them), lowbrow baby and the co-founder of the independent art space KAALO.101 in Patan (Lalitpur, Nepal). My professional and private life revolves around this space, art, activism and my community.

Coming from an academic background in art theory & transcultural studies and a PHD degree, I dedicate my work to intersections of activism, research and unapologetic praxis: I am passionate about facilitating, living and researching within the transcultural context of Nepali countercultures and intersections with traditional works and communities. Through my work, I attempt to challenge systems of oppression, academic theories, methodologies, and the authoritarian claims of truth & reality, highlighting collaborations and coexistence within the framework of class politics, knowledge production and queer worldmaking.

Maichyang (they/them)

Maichyang, 22, is a Kathmandu based queer Photographer/Filmmaker whose work primarily focuses on archiving and documenting queer life, art, and culture in Nepal. Shuby (they/them)

Shuby (they/them) is a non-binary queer artist based in Nepal. They have a background in theatre production and drama, and dabble in poetry. They also dazzle as Phoenix Raj, a drag king who will tug at your heartstrings as they pour soul and passion into what they do whether through fun antics or performance storytelling. Shuby runs Queer Honky-Tonk, a platform for queer performance arts blending edutainment with performance arts. Shuby’s mission is to foster connections and create brave spaces. They aim to find the intersections in the work they do, taking from their own life experiences growing up as a third-culture-kid (TCK) and their queer identity.
